Sometime between July 30, 2021 after dark and August 2, 2021 before sunrise, a vehicle was used to physically remove barricades that were placed by the Township of Georgian Bluffs at the entrance to some recreational trails in order to prevent ATVs from driving on prohibited and protected Niagara Escarpment Commission (NEC) Lands.
The NEC has ruled that ATVs can not travel these trails that enter onto the protected NEC lands.
These gates have been damaged before, however this is the first time they have been ripped from the ground.
